VoxOffice™ 2.5.5
PBX Server Administration
DDI Mapping
We saw in the Extension and DDI sections above how to add a range of Extensions and DDIs
in VoxOffice. In this section, we look at how to set up a Dial Plan which allows you to
allocate DDIs to users or other PBX objects. DDI mapping ties the PBX components together
and makes them accessible to external callers.  When the DDI mapping option is selected a
screen similar to the following loads;
Figure 27 - Mapped DDI List
The screen lists all the DDIs in use, their Group Types, the user they are assigned to and
corresponding Extension number. The dropdown menu in the top right corner lets you
select by Extension type and the list can be sorted by any column.
Clicking on the Envelope icon lets the Administrator set the system mailbox. This lets users
dial into the PBX and with the appropriate password they can pick up voicemails remotely.
VoxOffice only supports one system mailbox and one DDI for that mailbox.
Clicking on the ‘Add’ (assign a DDI) icon launches the following pop-up. Here, the
Administrator can map a DDI to a PBX Extension Type such as a User, a Queue or an IVR and
then to a valid option of that type. Only valid mappings are possible. This means that only
available DDIs will appear in the DDI drop-down. The ‘Group Type’ will list the same range
of options we saw in ‘Extensions’ above. Once the DDI and Group Type selections are made,
only valid ‘Map To’ options will be available. For example, if a DDI is selected followed by
the group type Extensions, then all the users will appear in the Map To dropdown as valid
destinations for the DDI. Once a valid selection is made click the ‘Map’ button to
implement the change.
