To delete a number from the DDI range, select it and click the Delete icon. Once you
confirm your choice the number is deleted. Only numbers that are not assigned can be
deleted so you cannot accidentally delete a number which is in use.
The DDIs are allocated by your Telco. Normally, your Telco will give you 100 phone numbers
when they install your PRI (primary rate interface) or FRI (fractional rate interface). This
screen allows you to manage these numbers and review which ones are in use and those
which are available.
One of the benefits of an IP PBX is the ability to setup international numbers which can be
mapped back to your PBX. For example, many VOIP providers can now provision local
numbers in one country which are routed back to a PBX in another. The benefit for the
caller is a lower cost, local call and the benefit for the called organisation is that it is
easier and cheaper for clients and potential clients to contact them.
