PBX Configuration
VoxOffice™ 2.5.5
PBX Server Administration
SMTP
This screen allows the user the ability to configure how VOX connects to the SMTP service
on the server.
Figure 18 - SMTP Service
Relay Host
This is the IP Address or Hostname that will allow the PBX to relay emails through.
If using a relay server please make sure the PBX server has permission to relay
through it. Most mail servers will prohibit this behaviour by default.
Server Host Name
By default the SMTP service will use the server’s host name when sending mails. If
you need to use a different hostname then you can enter it here.
** Please note that if you set the host name to be that of your company’s email
server then a mail loop will occur within the SMTP service.
This is because the hostname of a user’s email address will match that of the SMTP
service and it will send the mail to itself. You can use a sub-domain to get around
this, for example use:
pbx.yourcompany.com
---- not----
  yourcompany.com
voicemail would be received as voicemail@pbx.yourcompany.com
